INSURANCE with Key2Go Car Rentals

Key2Go Car Rentals – Collision Damage Insurance


• The excess can be decreased to €250 by taking C.D.W. (Collision Damage Waiver) at €10/day for the rental period.


 What this insurance means


The Collision Damage Insurance reduces your financial responsibility if the Key2Go rental vehicle is damaged during your rental.

If damage is covered, the maximum amount you pay is €250, even if the repair cost is higher.


This gives peace of mind by significantly lowering the standard excess.

What is covered


✔ Accidental damage to the rental vehicle

✔ Damage caused by collision or impact

✔ Scratches and dents (subject to inspection)

What is NOT covered


✖ Theft  of the vehicle

✖ Damage caused by reckless, negligent, or intentional driving

✖ Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or illegal substances

✖ Damage while violating the rental agreement or Cyprus road laws

✖ Use by unauthorized drivers

✖ Off-road driving, racing, or prohibited use

✖ Damage to:

• Tires, wheels, rims

• Glass, mirrors, light,Interior

✖ Loss or damage to keys or accessories.



Key2Go Car Rentals – Third Party (Basic) Insurance


Third-party insurance provides essential protection against liability for damage or injury caused to others while using the rental vehicle. This coverage is typically mandatory under local motor insurance regulations and is included to ensure legal compliance during your rental period.


Third-party insurance covers:

  • Damage to third-party property, including other vehicles or structures
  • Bodily injury or death of third parties, including related medical and legal costs
  • Coverage applies when the driver of the rental vehicle is legally

              responsible for an accident.


Third-party insurance does not cover:


  • Damage to the rental vehicle.(Total Loss/Damage Can Cost upto value of Car.)
  • Injuries to the driver or passengers of the rental vehicle
  • Loss or damage due to theft, fire, or vandalism


While third-party insurance protects you against claims made by others, it does not cover repair or replacement costs for the rental car itself. 


“In the event of a claim, the renter is liable for the insurance excess, being between €700–€900.
